Crow and The Coconut Tree

Dear Loved Ones, This is one of my favourite story with a beautiful take away. Today midnight I got an intense emotion to sketch and paint this happening, which gives a neutral perspective to our lives. Crow and the Coconut Tree(Story told to Rama by Sage Vashistha, in "Yoga Vashistha" -Scripture in Vedanta Philosophy) Not much of a story really, but a crow is flying and lands on a coconut palm tree. At the exact moment the crow lands, a ripe coconut is released and falls to the ground. The two events seem related, but there is no causal relationship. Our mind often invents the relationship between the two to satisfy our need for a logical outcome. Did the crow cause the coconut to fall, or was it ready to drop? Vasistha says to Rama, “act as if everything you do makes a world of difference, knowing all the while that everything you do makes no difference to the world”. So it seems we are meant to act, to “do”; with full faith, full devotion, interest, enthusiasm, using all of our wisdom, our abilities, and trust, while remembering that it makes no difference at all. Which means, the important part is what is happening internally. And, such is life. Such is ‘creation’. - Arshalineageyoga However while in our daily lives, there's too much focus on "I" I did this, I did that, which is genuine if not for you, who is doing? But, there's something beyond to be aware of, to know where from this "I'sm" comes from and helps to be at peace in the inner realms of our selves. To understand that, let's see the spaces of ego we all can be acting from, and there's no right or wrong to it. a. Personal Ethical Egoism: Is the belief that only I should act from the motive of self-interest, nothing is stated about what motives others should act from. b. Individual Ethical Egoism: Is the perspective doctrine that all persons should serve my self-interest. c. Universal Ethical Egoism: Is the universal doctrine that all persons should pursue their own interests exclusively. #letspaintpeace #yogavasistha #coconuttreeandcrow #midnightenergy
